What is POSSE?

POSSE Logo POSSE (Prevent Ongoing Spread of STD’s Everywhere) is a program of the HIV/STI Outreach Section at the Forsyth County Department of Public Health. The POSSE Team provides non-clinical, off-site HIV/STI screenings and education in non-traditional locations in Forsyth County such as churches, jails, universities, homeless shelters, night clubs, community health fairs, etc.

If you would like to schedule the POSSE Team to come out to your event, please complete and return the attached request form at least one month before the event. POSSE Team Request Form.

Services Offered

  • HIV and/or Syphilis (Blood Test)
  • HIV Rapid Test (Mouth swab or finger prick)
  • Chlamydia & Gonorrhea Screening (urine based)
  • HIV/STD Health Education Sessions
  • POSSE Information Table (which could include condoms, lubricants, etc.)
