In accordance with North Carolina General Statute policies, the Register of Deeds records, manages, and preserves public real property records, vital information on births, deaths and marriages, and military service records, while also administering the Notary Oath.

    Register of Deeds In-House Initiative Saves the County $656,678.00

    By the end of May 2013, the Register of Deeds office will have completed the in-house project of redaction (removal of Social security and driver’s license numbers) from public online records back to 1950, which is when these numbers began to appear on official records.
