Volunteer Opportunities
The Forsyth County Department of Animal Control depends on the support of our community.
Join a dedicated team of like-minded individuals who strive to make the world a
better place for animals and people. Each year, hundreds of our neighbors donate
their time to help homeless animals. The Forsyth County Department of Animal Control
welcomes your involvement.
Orientations for volunteers 16 and older are held the 3rd Tuesday of each month
at the Animal Shelter. Orientation begins promptly at 6 pm and lasts approximately
an hour. It’s the first step to volunteering with us. Check the
Calendar of Events for additional volunteer orientations. For more information
call 703-2467.

to members of our community. Help us get this information to the community! This
would involve a responsible adult to drive to specified locations for brochures
to be distributed.
Volunteer Opportunities for Kids 16 and Under
- RABIES CLINICS - For kids ages 14 and older you can assist staff members
and other volunteers at a clinic with paperwork and other duties. It’s a great way
for you to help your community.
- ANIMEALS - Kids can make a BIG impact assisting staff members in the Animeals
Program. Volunteers would place containers in neighborhoods, churches, schools etc.
to promote donation of pet food for the AniMeals Program. AniMeals is a regulated
program Animal Control over sees providing pet food for seniors and low income residents
of Forsyth County on a sort term basis. It’s a great opportunity for kids to utilize
many of the skills needed in today’s world from contacting potential sites for a
container to be placed to organizing the efforts to pick up and bring the donations
to the shelter.
