Gardening Series at Walkertown

Walkertown’s Gardening series is starting up again. For the beginner to the season harvester looking for a new ideas and tips, we have something for everyone. In collaboration with N.C. Cooperative Extension, join us as we cover wide and varied topics this growing season. Join us for one workshop or come to them all.

For our first workshop in this year’s gardening series our master gardener, Robert Le Pere, will be covering the basics of vegetable gardening. He’ll cover topics like seed starting, soil testing, and how to prepare your garden to ensure a healthy harvest.

Square foot gardening is the practice of dividing the growing area into small square sections, typically 1 foot on a side, hence the name. The aim is to assist the planning and creating of a small but intensively planted vegetable garden. In this week's workshop, our master gardener will be covering the ends and outs of square foot gardening. Join us to learn how to get the best out of a small garden.
