On September 28th, Deputy K. Brown was assisting Corporal Holt with a K-9 search at West Forsyth High School. While searching the second level of a building, Deputy Brown observed four suspicious males wearing book bags near the side door of a nearby residence. Deputy Brown contacted the Forsyth County Sheriff Office communications by phone and asked to have a patrol unit respond.

Deputy Brown continued to watch the suspicious males as he remained on the phone with communications relaying information. Deputy Brown observed one of the suspicious males use a garden tool to strike the side door of the residence and confirmed that an attempted house breaking was in progress. Deputy Brown, along with Cpl Holt, exited from building and positioned themselves directly behind the residence. Deputy Brown announced his presence to the suspects. They immediately ran towards Lewisville Clemmons Rd., where Deputy Brown successfully apprehended one suspect.

Through further investigation, Deputy Brown found that all suspects involved in the incident were students that attended West Forsyth High School. Deputy Brown took custody of two juvenile suspects and detained them at West Forsyth High School until their parents arrived. Deputy Brown thoroughly explained to each parent what their child was being charged with before releasing them into their custody. Deputy Brown displayed quick thinking and calm demeanor during the entire incident. Congratulations Deputy Brown!
