In December, Detention Officer J. Surratt was conducting a thorough and deliberate search of all inmates entering the Law Enforcement Detention Center. Upon receiving an inmate’s property, Officer Surratt discovered gang affiliated contraband. Because of Officer Surratt’s meticulous search, what he found was invaluable to our department in dealing with the gang activity. Officer Surratt cares deeply about his job and it shows in the effort that he puts forth on a daily basis.
