Happy Birthday Winston-Salem, from the Library.

On Saturday, May 11th a parade was held in Winston-Salem to mark the 100th anniversary of the merger of the towns of Winston and Salem. Floats in the parade depicted life in the community and in the world for each decade of the city's existence. The Library was assigned the decade of the 1940's. Here are photos from our float from what many consider the most influential decade of the twentieth century and a turning point in modern history.

Special thanks to the Friends of the Central Library for their help in making the Library float a reality.
