This week in Summer Reading!

Summer Reading 2014 is starting to wind down, update your online activity tracker and start turning in any paper logs you might still have.

This week three of our locations will be hosting their Summer Reading Finale Party, you don’t want to miss out! Rural Hall’s party will be on July 24 starting at 2 pm, on July 25 Reynolda Manor’s will start at 2 pm and starting at 3:30pm, Southside’s Ice Cream Social. July 22 (1:30-2:15pm), our Walkertown Branch is having a puppet show; Matt Sandbank’s RAPUNZEL Puppet Show is set in contemporary times, RAPUNZEL’s heroine is locked away in an abandoned high-rise and lives at the mercy of a scheming landlady posing as her grandmother.

On July 21, at 3pm, Wake Forest University's Museum of Anthropology will be in Teen Central (Central Library) to do a special program where teens will excavate and study bones, jewelry, pottery, and other artifacts. Then join us at our Reynolda Manor Branch, July 23 at 4pm, for a special Teen Night with Economy Jr. Teens will learn the ends and outs of the economy through an interactive game.

Our Literary Elements Movie Series for adults at Central, will be viewing a movie based on the novel by Dennis Lehane, Mystic River, July 21 starting at 6:15pm. Then come back the next day to enjoy a Dark Knight Marathon as we screen some iconic Batman movies in celebration of 75 years of Batman.
