AQI readings remain Code Green out ahead of a cold front that will usher in some lower dew points for Friday. Following the frontal passage, a ridge will begin to build over the eastern US this weekend and into the beginning of next week. Surface high pressure will park overhead as well. Expect warming temperatures with highs reaching the mid 90s by Sunday. Ozone readings are expected to be on the increase as air mass stagnates and temperatures warm, possibly reaching the mid Code Yellow range by Sunday. Please note that with high temperatures pushing 100 degrees under sunny skies early next week, ozone readings have the potential to become quite elevated so stay tuned to the forecast. Particle pollution is expected to hover in the upper Code Green range for the next couple of days before reaching Moderate levels by Sunday. (Perrotte)
